The Daily Telegraph has reported on the backlash in Leicestershire (where a whole-diocese reorganisation is being put forward which would end the parish system with its pastoral care). Leicester diocesan synod voted in 2021 on a plan which suggested that there would be 9-11 churches per Minster grouping, but there are 35 churches in the first Minster at Launde. Some of the Church’s money should be redirected to the beleagured rural parish.
