Big changes are afoot in Truro. Against strong local opposition the Bishop of Truro is creating official oversight ministers who may be lay and continuing to reduce the numbers of vicars and grouping churches into ever larger groupings. Where are 105 local leaders, 30 pioneers and 20 leaders for young people as well as another 142 church wardens going to come from? Is he going to pay them? Would training and paying priests properly not be more effective? Local people feel that they have not been consulted properly.
