EVENT 1: LAITY & SUPPORTERS

Of all the institutions discussed when talking about the Church of England and its present issues, parliament is not usually one of them.

Many believe that, whilst Her Majesty the Queen is the Supreme Governer, the CofE is otherwise independent. This is not so.

Parliament has a vital role to play.

Therefore, we are delighted to be putting on an exciting, timely event in the Houses of Parliament in September, kindly sponsored and co-run with Chris Loder MP.

What is going wrong? What can Parliament do? How do we convince them to do it?

These are the three fundamental questions that we will seek to answer at this vital meeting.

This event is one in a series of Parliamentary events that we are planning for 2022/2023. We aim to use them to build support for a culminating meeting with as many MPs as possible in 2023. This initial meeting is for laity, and we are planning specific future events for clergy and churchwardens respectively.

As one of our new regional volunteers, we are giving you an opportunity to secure your place for this event before we send out invitations to the rest of our supporters.

Space is limited, so be sure to secure your ticket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The event will run from 18:00 onwards in the Palace of Westminster. Further logistical information will be sent to attendees closer to the day.

Due to parliamentary catering rules, we are unable to offer refreshments at this event. We are certain, however, that many attendees will decamp to one of Westminster’s Public Houses afterwards for further plotting 🍻

Many thanks for your time, and we hope to see you there!
